Dr. Jun Huang currently serves as Vice President of Pony.ai, General Manager of the Intelligent Solutions Business Unit, and General Manager of the Shanghai R&D Center. In these capacities, he has full oversight of Pony.ai's POV division and the day-to-day operations of the Shanghai R&D Center.
Jun joined Pony.ai in August 2018 as a founding member of the Shanghai R&D Center, where he played a pivotal role in its establishment and contributed to the design of Pony.ai's first-generation redundant system architecture. He also spearheaded the integration of automotive-grade functional safety and system safety frameworks into Pony.ai's R&D processes, driving the commercialization of its product offerings. Concurrently, Jun has been instrumental in forging technical and strategic partnerships with leading OEMs globally.
Prior to Pony.ai, Jun led the development of Qoros Auto's production vehicles from 2013 to 2017, introducing the concept of an integrated in-vehicle cockpit system. In 2016, he headed the design of Qoros' L4 autonomous driving vehicle platform. He later joined ICONIQ Motors, where he architected the connected-vehicle E/E architecture for high-level autonomous driving and designed a passenger-first intelligent cockpit framework.
Jun holds a master's degree in Electronic and Information Technology from the Technische Universität Ilmenau in Germany. He brings deep technical expertise in the automotive sector, backed by a robust industry network and supply chain relationships.
