An Jing (Ava An) is an interdisciplinary cultural researcher, creative technology practitioner, and Founder & Research Lead of SHE & THE TEA MOUNTAIN. She is a graduate of King's College London.
Her work spans digital humanities, artificial intelligence, cultural heritage research, documentary filmmaking and international cultural communication, with a focus on how digital technologies can help document, interpret and share culturally situated human knowledge.
She currently leads SHE & THE TEA MOUNTAIN, a UK–China digital humanities and cultural heritage project supported by the British Council's Connections Through Culture programme.
Working with a technical team, she has helped develop an AI-assisted, human-governed research workflow connecting audiovisual transcription, human verification, contextual annotation, character research and digital archival selection. Her ongoing practice explores how these methods may inform future applications across cultural institutions, documentary research and other knowledge-intensive fields.
