Kevin YAO is a Senior Engineer with over 20 years of IT experience across the electronics, automotive, and food industries. He has held senior IT leadership roles at globally recognized companies including Honeywell, Gates Unitta (automotive components), OSI Food, and Tech-Bank Food, serving as APAC Project Manager, Greater China IT Manager, IT Director, and CIO. He currently serves as CTO of Xiejie Industrial Technology, where he leads technology strategy, product architecture, and R&D direction.
With a comprehensive command of all major IT management domains, Yao combines deep theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on experience. He has led numerous corporate IT integration initiatives, IT strategic planning and enterprise architecture design, large‑scale system selection and deployment (including ERP, MES, and SAP HANA), as well as greenfield IT build‑outs for new manufacturing facilities. In recent years, his focus has shifted toward IT strategic planning, AI adoption, enterprise digital transformation, and information security. He is an active member of ISACA, (ISC)², and IAPP, reflecting his continued commitment to global professional standards.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions to manufacturing IT, he was named e‑works “Outstanding Chinese Manufacturing CIO” in 2013 and received the “National Outstanding Chief Information Officer” award from the Chinese Institute of Electronics in 2014. Beyond his corporate roles, he has contributed to the profession through publications — he co‑authored New Thinking for CIOs and translated several influential works into Chinese, including The Wolf in CIO’s Clothing, Gray Hat Hacking, CCSP Certified Cloud Security Professional Official Study Guide, and SIAM: Service Integration and Management — A Multi‑Supplier Approach.
