Tenured Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tsinghua University, Former Director of the Master of Engineering Management Education Center of Tsinghua University, Member and Secretary-General of the National Advisory Committee for Professional Degree Graduate Education in Engineering Management.

Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Human Factors Engineering and Director of the Tsinghua Branch of the Laboratory, Fellow of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA), IEA Executive Committee Member and Chair of the Development and Promotion Committee, Co-Editor-in-Chief of ERGONOMICS, Deputy Director of the Editorial Board of the Chinese Journal of Ergonomics, and former President of the Chinese Ergonomics Society (CES, 2012–2023).

His main teaching and research areas include human-machine engineering, driving safety, intelligent human-computer interaction, innovation management, and graduate education management. He was awarded the Program for New Century Excellent Talents by the Ministry of Education (2008), and received the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2002), the First Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award (2001), the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (2014), and the First and Second Prizes of the Beijing Teaching Achievement Award (2013, 2022). He is currently the principal investigator of the Major Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China entitled “Research on Theories and Methods of Machine Behavior and Human-Machine Collaborative Decision-Making” (Project No.: 72192820, 2022–2026).
